Check Out What Top Professional Players & Coaches Have to Say About Coerver System

Carlos Parreira

"The reaction to Alfred's courses in Brazil were excellent. Many former World Cup players and coaches attended, and it was obvious to us all that such a program that encourages and teaches individual skills and creativity is needed by us, as much as by other countries."

"The videos were great!"

- Carlos Parreira, Head Coach, Brazil

Gerard Houllier

"Coerver® Coaching helps us produce the kind of technical players that can give our teams the winning edge. I first brought Alfred (International director Coerver® Coaching, Alfred Galustian) to work with the French Federation regional coaches 4 years ago, and the results and reaction since have been excellent."

- Gerard Houllier, Head Coach Lyon, Former Head Coach, Liverpool and France

Aime Jacquet

"I believe that youth coaches who attend Coerver® Coaching courses will benefit from learning one of the world's leading coaching method and ultimately, this will help that country to become more successful."

- Aime Jacquet, 1998 Coach of France World Cup Champions

Roberto Rivelino

"Every young player from 8 years old on should be exposed to Coerver® Coaching. I am convinced of the value of this program."

- Roberto Rivelino, Brazilan World Cup Star

Juergen Klinsman

"I wish I had been exposed to such a program when I was a young player... it would certainly have made me a better player."

- Juergen Klinsman, World Cup Legend, Head Coach Germany

The best way to describe the Coerver experience to other parents is like this: "the kids come home absolutely drenched from sweat, but with an ear to ear smile."

You and your staff have found ways to challenge and teach while making it enjoyable, too. As important, I attribute Coerver training as the difference in my daughter's ability to make good moves and decisions with the ball. As a result, she is confident and making positive contributions to her team. She is also practicing those moves and asking to learn more.

Thank you, and we look forward to attending your camps well into the future.

- Brian Jacobson

My daughter has been a club member of Coerver Coaching and TCU for three years. Over those three years we have watched her develop into a skilled and self confident player due to the tremendous training and support that she has received from the Coerver Coaches and club managers. As a parent cheering from the sidelines for two years to a co-manager of the U-16 girls, it has been an honor to be associated with such a fine group of young athletes. I know I will be seeing these players achieve their soccer "goals" throughout their high school years and well into college...

- Stacy Voss, Mom of U-16 girls player Samantha Voss

I want to compliment you on and all the trainers for once again doing an outstanding job with your clinics. Maddy has done her share of camps over the years, and she still finds the Coerver Clinics her favorite ... I believe that Coerver Coaching is the very best resource available to kids, period.

- Becky Gerber, mother of Maddy Gerber

Play Great Soccer

The passion for coaching as well as my hunger to know more about how to
play soccer at full potential
drove me to look around the Internet for some "coaching kits". And man, I did stumble upon a big one...

I must say, I never heard of Coerver Coaching before, nor of one of the company's founders, Chalrie Cooke (later on I found out he was a great soccer player in his day, having played for 10 years in the English Premiership & another 10 in the U.S).

The second founder, Alf Galustian did spark a light bulb from way back however. These two guys and their company created a series of DVD's on learning how to play soccer that I was curious enough to try out.

I didn't know what to expect from these DVD's at first, but my hopes went up reading the Coerver Coaching website and seeing that everything looked very well structured and accurate.

Nothing seemed introduced there only to create content and despite this lack of "filling garbage", the bundle I bought contained 5 DVDs! Five DVDs on learning how to play soccer might seem a lot, but trust me, when you've gone through them you'll be wishing there was more to the series.

The DVD bundle is called Make Your Move and, as I said before, it's very well structured.

You can watch the DVD's from both a coach's and a player's perspective, so I'm guessing this bundle would be great for soccer parents that want to help out their kid with soccer, individual players that want to improve themselves or soccer coaches that want to improve their team's skills faster and better.

There isn't really an age level to the DVDs, since they're all quite straightforward, so even a 8-9 year old that's just learning the basic soccer skills can benefit from it.

Here's the deal with the whole Make Your Move bundle pack: it's based around what the guys at Coerver call the "Pyramid of Player Development". This is a pyramid built around six individual soccer skills, namely ball mastery, receiving and passing, one on one moves, speed, finishing and team play.

Each of these basic soccer skills are covered in order, so it would be best if you go through the DVDs in their right order as well.

All I can say is that, when you're done with them, you will have learnt countless individual drills and exercises, one on one dribbling moves, feints that can get you out of rough spot, tactical concepts and many more. I doubt the Make Your Move package missed out on any of the basic soccer skills used in today's game.

Here is the Pyramid:

1

  • BALL MASTERY - Exercises where each player works alone with a ball at repetitions using both feet.

  • MOVES (1 V 1) - Exercises and games that teach game - winning individual moves that can create space against the most packed of defences.

  • SPEED - Exercises and games that improve acceleration, running with and without the ball and change of pace.

  • FINISHING - Exercises and games that teach technique and encourage instinctive play.

  • GROUP ATTACK - Exercises and games that improve small - group combination play with emphasis on fast break attack. The Pyramid Approach combined with the Coerver Coaching philosophy of graduated pressure allows players to quickly gain confidence and progress through the interconnected levels of the game.

Admittedly, just seeing them won't teach you how to play soccer, you'll also need to practice what you're learning from the DVDs. It's a good thing that each move or drill is presented clearly and pleasantly, so you'll be able to copy them in no time with a little ambition.

To this extent, probably the most interesting chapter is when you learn soccer tricks with the help of Alf Galustian and Charlie Cooke. You'll get to try out scissors, double scissors, "Zidane" spins and many more that are so fun to learn, you'll be craving for more.

And here's the best part: the Make Your Move bundle doesn't just offer you the five DVDs teaching you how to play soccer, you will also get a couple of extras that just make the entire deal sweeter.

You will gain a 12 month pass to the Coerver Coaching video library, which contains countless soccer training videos showing you how to perform step by step soccer moves.

I noticed that a lot of the videos in the library were also used in the DVD bundle (or vice versa), but I guess there's nothing wrong with that. The good thing is that the library gets updated, so in a year's time while you have the pass, you'll be getting a lot of new videos to look at.

Play Great SoccerLast but not least, you will receive two soccer E-books, called "The New Era" and "Play Like a Soccer Legend". I didn't get the chance to go all the way through them to be completely honest, but for what I noticed, they're covering pretty much the same aspects that are discussed on the DVD bundle.
